choi variety, with compact habit. Produces plump, juicy white stems
that contrast with lightly savoyed dark green leaves. Also known as Baby or Squat Pak Choi, this is a dwarf plant of compact
habit producing short, broad, thick, pure white stems and dark green
leaves. Suitable for sowing from late spring to early autumn
If grown as a cut and come again crop, you can harvest at any point
after the plant has grown over 4cm high. This can be within only three weeks of
sowing, and you will also be able to make a couple of further cuts.
At the baby leaf stage Pak Choi make excellent additions to salads with
their refreshingly crisp and juicy texture, with a hint of mustard. They are
also excellent to use in stir fry and soups.
Pak choi can be grown either as a cut-and-come-again crop, or you can
harvest them as a mature plant.
