Sow Spring to summer for cutting in Summer / early Autumn .Unlike Broccoli Calabrese does not transplant well, so it should be sown directly into warm soil. Group seeds in threes and 25-30cm apart. Protect young seedlings with netting to reduce bird attacks Sow ½ in (1cm) deep in rows that are 6in (15in) apart. Cover with soil.
Can be grown over a long season, often succeeding where other brassicas fail.
Once the main heads are removed, small sideshoots form, which are ideal for florets.
Germinates between 7 and 30°C.
Plant out spring to Summer at around 23 x 30cm, for harvesting Summer / Autumn. Later maturity is possible in milder climates.
Cut the heads before the flowers form or the plant will not produce any more. Quantity - 400 seeds
