Also
known as Palm Cabbage or Nero di Toscana, this variety produces plants
with very large, dark, strap-like leaves. An unusual plant with good
flavour and texture that can also be used as baby salad leaves.
Fully
grown plants have attractive dark green, deeply savoyed, straplike
leaves with traditional winter hardiness, making this a useful winter
to spring vegetable at a time when fresh garden produce is scarce. Can
also be grown as a baby salad leaf ingredient adding texture and a
peppery taste to mixed salads.
